Michelle graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA degree in Urban Politics in 1997. While pursuing her undergraduate degree she was a member of the MHC Riding Team competing in the advanced Hunter Division of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. She provides classical hunt seat riding instruction in private and group formats with a focus on adult amateur and junior riders. Michelle also shows client horses and coaches riders at local, A, and AA rated horse shows. Michelle served as both Vice President and President of the Colorado West Hunter Jumper Association (CWHJA) for seven years, which sanctions local and regional horse shows. She has hosted numerous local equestrian clinics and manages shows at Cozy Point Ranch in the CWHJA summer series. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at her son’s preschool, The Little Red School House.

Lisa has been riding and competing in Hunters and Jumpers since childhood. She spent many years riding at Hunter’s Vale in Kansas City and eventually rode at various barns in the Roaring Fork Valley including Cozy Point Ranch. After graduating from Aspen High School, Lisa went to Sweet Briar College in Virginia. During college, she competed on the Intercollegiate Riding team, the Fall Club team and was an active member of the Riding Council. She also participated in the Teachers Assistant program where she studied the “American Forward Seat” under the famous Paul D. Cronin, the 30 year Director of the Sweet Briar College Riding Program. In 2002, Lisa developed her Fundamentals of English riding program, which focuses on classic equitation and teaching a balanced seat. Lisa’s coaching has allowed first time riders to enjoy all level of riding and has taken one dedicated student to 7th place at National Pony Finals. Lisa was accepted in March 2010 to one of the first classes of the United States Hunter Jumper Association Trainers Certification Program. She is excited to utilize her training from this certification to further develop her riding and training program. She will also be developing our Summer Camp Training Manual for all the riding instructors this summer.
